A Bit About Us

A Distinct Cause and Identity

Paul Harvey, a retired US Navy Captain, and his sister Valerie Rocio Raecke, a retired National Board Certified special education teacher, lost their spouses in 2020 within a period of seven months from each other. To honor their spouses, Paul and Valerie turned their grief into the establishment of Kai's and Cora's Foundation for Kids, a 501c3 charity to provide needed assistance to children in specific communities in the Philippines and Colombia, that their spouses were involved in and so loved.

Kai's and Cora's non-profit organization will bring hope, books, and other needed school supplies to the Tapinac Elementary School in Olongapo City, Philippines, where Corazon attended Elementary school as a child. The foundation continues the work Kai & Valarie started in 2018, of bringing needed items and supplies to the special need kids at the Fundación Synapsis Vital Orphanage in the city of Pereira, Colombia. By enlisting your support, we can together help to minimize the challenges these kids face daily.  Additionally, with Kai’s passing from Glioblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer, 10% of all donations received will go toward supporting the American Brain Tumor Association.

Support Us

By working together, our collective efforts and end results, will be multiplied by your involvement and donations. Your donations will help make an immediate and positive difference with Kai's and Cora's Foundation for Kids, right now! The support we hope to receive from you, will go far towards the good work we want to do in addressing the need for essential school supplies for children attending Tapinac Elementary School in Olongapo City, Philippines and supporting the special needs of the orphans at Fundación Synapsis Vital, in the city of Pereira, Colombia. We will leverage off the strength of the US dollar to convert your donations into the local currencies in the Philippines and Colombia, to maximize our efforts in purchasing goods and supplies in these two areas. Additionally, a portion of all donations received will go towards supporting the American Brain Tumor Association ABTA.

Our Past Activities

2018 - Bringing Happiness

At Kai's and Cora's Foundation for Kids, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing some of the needs of the population we serve.  Back in 2018, on a trip to Colombia to bring supplies to the kids at the orphanage, we noticed that the kids needed a TV. We both agreed to donate a large screen TV so that the kids would have some entertainment.

The excitement of the residents when they realized the TV was for them, filled our hearts with joy.  A simple thing as a 43" flat screen smart TV brought so much joy to residents who never leave the campus.
